Show Jensen Gladys Peterson Phone 789-1945 Elder Peterson transferred to Baytown, Texas Elder Stan Peterson has been transferred from Galvaston, Texas to Baytown. He is still by the waterfront and his new address is 310' Hines, Baytown, Texas, 77520. Loyal Turner is home on furlough from the Navy. He is visiting friends and relatives. Loyal is the son of Bill and Gertrude Turner. Janice Anderson and daughter are visiting with her parents, the Bart Snows and other relatives. Janice is living liv-ing in Wyoming where her husband Roe has employment. On July 24, there will be a stake breakfast from 6 to 9 a.m. with the proceeds pro-ceeds going toward the scouting funds. It will be at the Vernal Utah Stake Center. Everyone is encouraged to support sup-port this event. The Lyn A. Morrill family attended the Morrill reunion this past weekend at the campground above Flaming Gorge. The Meril Snow family held a reunion over the 4th of July weekend. Attending were all five of their children and their families. Ralph and Ka thy Snow and their children of Grand Junction, Colo; Morris and Mary Lee Casperson and their four children of Roosevelt; Dor-reen Dor-reen and Richard Francom and their three boys, Donnett and Steve Hiatt and their two sons of Vernal and John and Linda Snow and their daughter from Jensen. Donnet, Dorreen and Mary Lee all had new babies to show to the families. Highlights of the day were a fish and steak fry then watching the fireworks that evening. The family enjoyed en-joyed homemade root beer that Donnet had a first hand try at. Newel and Alice Snow enjoyed out of town guests last week. Coming to see them were Viola Merkley and two friends of Ogden, the Wayne Holibike family. The Ralph Snows and the Dorreen Dor-reen Francoms. Larry Moon and Miguel Vargis at-- at-- tended a family reunion in Roosevelt over the holiday weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Meril Snow, daughter Dorreen and sons traveled to Roosevelt Sunday to be in attendance at the blessing bless-ing of their daughter, Mary Lee's baby. Ward Murray was honored to be asked ask-ed to bless his granddaughter's baby , girl Sunday. The baby was named Jen- nifer Virginia Gutierrez. All the children of Ward and Verna were there except DeWard. The families of Greg and Laura Murray Mur-ray visited them Sunday to witness the blessing and naming of their baby, Justice Greg. He was named by his grandfather, Bryce Caldwell. Fritz Begay came from Salt Lake City Ci-ty to spend the holiday weekend with his foster family, the Fran Petersons. He returned home Sunday. The Peterson children and friend Shelly Powell spent the weekend in Colorado. Col-orado. The Sunday School classes of Dave Keun and Monty Hewitt enjoyed an evening of fun at the Hewitt home. The highlight was a barbecue that all the students enjoyed. Many from here enjoyed the Vernal rodeo to captivate the holiday weekend then on the night of the 4th many attended at-tended and enjoyed the spectacular fireworks display that took place in the Vernal ball park. Ward Murray has retired from the custodial job of the Jensen Ward. His fine service is greatly appreciated. Elder Hugh Oldaker, a recently returned missionary from San Antonia, Texas mission, came down to visit with his relatives, the Jack Ruppes and Fran Petersons. He brought his brothers and sisters with him. The John Martin family and Kathy Jo Powell have moved back here from Tennessee. They had some sad experiences ex-periences while on their way as they were robbed in Louisiana, had high heat problems and car trouble in Texas. . They called ahead to their parents for help and Kelly Powell along with Bill Martin left to meet them and help them on their way back home. Attending the Hyrum Slaugh reunion from here was the Kelly Powell family and the Wade Slaugh family. Every year the decendants of Hy and Bertha Slaugh get together and honor him at the time of his birthday and have a large family gathering to honor their parents and celebrate the big day with them. The Norris Satter family spent the holiday weekend in Salt Lake City where they went to. an auction and an antique store and purchased a few items. Becky is looking forward to restoring these items to their original state. Mr. and Mrs. Newel Snow have marked mark-ed 1980 as a bumper year for great grandchildren. They have already welcomed three into the family lately, then they hit the jackpot again on Sunday, Sun-day, July 6, as they received a call letting let-ting them know that twins had been - born to their grandson Dick Mirriam and his wife Rebecca. A little boy who will be named Loren Prescott, he weighed 5 lbs. and 4 oz. and a girl, Annie An-nie Pheyr who weighed 5 lbs. 5 oz. They were born in the Grand Junction, Colo, hospital. The proud grandparents are Dewayne and Jenny Mirriam of Meeker, Colo. Jenny is a daughter of the Snows. |
