Vernal golfers neife championships Twenty-four golfers competed in the Junior Golf Tournament at the Dinaland Golf Course in Vernal, Friday. Fri-day. Guy Childs, Troy Oaks, Chance Bailey, Steve Hatch and Heidi Green emerged as first place winners. Guy Childs captured the 15 to 17 year old division with an 18 hole score of 89. The first place winner had rounds of 44 and 45. His hole scores were: 4-5-5-6-7-6-2-4-4-44 and 5-6-5-5-5-5-6-4-4-45. Rick Morton finished in second place at 104. He had rounds of 56 and 48. Keith Larsen placed third at 117 with rounds of 59 and 58. Troy Oaks pocketed first place in the 12 to 14 year old division with a 9 hole score of 44. Oaks' hole scores were: 4-6-5-5-4-5-5-5-5-44. Darrin Bailey picked up second place honors at 51, and Gregg Burraston placed third at 54. Phillip Daggett nabbed fourth at 56, and Brad Mauss placed fifth at 58. Murray . Johnson netted sixth place at 61, and Tyan Siddoway fired a 65 score for seventh place. Steve Pease placed eighth at 67 and Greg Cobbs nabbed ninth place at 70. Steve Hatch captured top honors in the 9 to 11 year old division with a five hole score of 37. Hatch posted hole scores of: 6-8-8-9-34. Boby Fitts placed second at 40, and Larry Wiseman netted net-ted third place at 41. Devin Bailey pocketed fourth place at 50, and Mike McCurdy picked up fifth place, with a score of 51. Chance Bailey garnered first place honors in the 8 year old and under class at 36. Bailey competed on tour holes and had scores of: 5-11-8-12-36. Shane Oaks placed second at 41, and Jody Fitts pocketed third at 43. Heidi Green acquired first place in the girls' division at 61. She had scores of 6-6-7-8-7-7-7-8-5-61. Mauri Green placed plac-ed second at 63, and Michelle Green placed third at 69. Sheliah Clark netted third place at 70. The girls competed on nine holes. |
