Show Game Studies Continued by Fish and Game Winter snow and cold weather wea-ther may keep many people indoors, but Division of Fish and Game biologists amd conservation officers are out collecting data on Utah's game population. Winter activities include: trend and sex ratio counts; aerial surveys of elk, moose, antelope, bighorn sheep and waterfowl; trapping and tagging tag-ging deer, elk and waterfowl; water-fowl; and the trapping and transplanting of various animals ani-mals and game birds. The seasonal migration and congregation of game on wintering areas provides a gcod opportunity to collect col-lect information about nunv Ibers. sex ratios, productivity productiv-ity and movement. This information, in-formation, along with data from other studies and surveys, sur-veys, is the basis for scien-t:f scien-t:f ;c management of Utah's game. |
