Show Three bridges slated for new paint The Utah Department of Transportation Tuesday opened open-ed bids on three separate contracts to repaint bridges located in San Juan and Emery Counties. Interwest Coatings and Painting of Salt Lake City, submitted the apparent low bid of $20,950 to repaint the San Juan River bridge on US-163 at Mexican Hat within 30 working days. The official engineer's estimate was $26,-900. $26,-900. $21,000 was the apparent low bid on a contract to repaint the White Canyon bridge on U-95 in San Juan County. The bid was submitted submit-ted by Clark Painting Company Com-pany of Salt Lake City. The official engineer's estimate for the 30 working day project was $21,750. A contract to repaint the Engle Canyon bridge on 1-70 in Emery County drew an apparent low bid of $43,568, also submitted by Clark Painting Paint-ing Company. Forty working days are allowed for completion comple-tion of that project. UDOT's engineers estimated the job would cost $68,200. Work on each of the bridges can begin as soon as contract arrangements are finalized and weather stabilizes at or above 40 degrees. Little, if any traffic interference is expected. |
