Show Grand tax collections the highest ever, says Co. Treasurer Grand County's assessed valuation valu-ation rose to an all-time high in 1977 of nearly $30 million, up $2 million over 1976, and tax collections, accordingly, were the highest ever at a total of $1,941,518.63, according to County Treasurer Donna Loveridge. Exact assessed valuation last year was $29,881,345, compared with $27,982,909 in 1976 when $1,861,344.39 in taxes were collected. collect-ed. Mrs. Loveridge explained that between 95 and 96.6 per cent of total taxes is collected each year, with the remaining percentages accounted for by tax abatements, those who allow their taxes to go delinquent, etc. Grand County School District received $1,180,031.60 of the total taxes collected. Grand County received $399,141.28 and Moab City received $178,073.30. The Moab Valley Fire Protection Protec-tion District received $60,307.70; and the Water Conservancy District received $57,020. The County Library received $28,510.20; and the Cemetery District received $14,255.50. Spanish Valley Water and Sewer District received $8,119; Moab Mosquito Abatement District received $6,030.50; Green River City received $5,390.60; and the Uniform School Fund received $4,638.95. The remaining " $4,638.95 is disbursed through the State Treasurer Treas-urer for agricultural and wildlife damage and prevention, inspection and tubercular and bangs disease. |
