Show Thompson News Items . . By Virginia Gruver Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Jeffries surprised Alma Curtis the I6th by bringing a nice cake and fixins over. It was celebrating (Mrs. Curtis' birthday which was the 1 5th and it was also Fathers day for Slim and Jessie. A nice afternoon was spent and Thanks Betty. Mr. and Mrs. Buck Jones of Midvale, Utah were visitors at the D.B. Curtis home. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Davis of Nucla, Colo, were supper guests of the D.B. .Curtis' Saturday evening. Three men from Oren, Utah went to the Weaver Reservoir on the reservation on the Book Cliff Mts. fishing. On leaving the mountain they lost their way off and came by Thompson, Thomp-son, did not know where they were at so was directed to the right road. Mrs. Bengerman H. Sheeli from La Marida, Calif, is here to attend the wedding of Dana Roger's. She is Lester Rogers aunt and arrived 6-17-75 and does not yet know the exact date she will go home. Missrfural Rogers went to Oolitic, Indiana for a visit and to help drive out with her cousin Sharon Holler. They arrived in Thompson 6-18-75. Les and Margie Rogers hosted a rehearsal and birthday birth-day dinner for Beck at the Sundowner in Moab June 18, 1975. Beck is the bride-to-be of Dana Rogers. There was approximately 18 in attendance attend-ance between the two families. Tony and Lena Pene's home was graced Wednesday the 18th with their daughters arrival from Oren, Utah. Louise and daughter Shellia will be here til Sunday. Arriving from Miami, Fla. June 18 for cousin Dana's wedding was Bobby, Susan, Toni, and Kelli Rogers. . The 4:00 p.m. Zephyr brought Verna and Wanda Schliep home to Thompson Thursday the 19th. Wanda Schliep will be teaching at Southeast next school year. Boyd Frame and Jess Jeffries took a trip to Grand Junction Tuesday the 17th on business. Wednesday the 18th Boyd went up to Salt Lake City on business and to visit Robert True. Arriving Saturday the 21st for Dana Rogers Wedding was his Grandmother and step Grandfather, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Cadwell from Collbran, Colo. Also arriving Saturday was Ruth Cording and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Graves from Grand Jet., and Mr. and Mrs. Price Bittle from Loma, Colo. George Dutos' sister-in-law from Greece has been visiting for a month with George and Sadie. Demitra Duadaniots was taken to Salt Lake City Saturday by Sadie and put on the plane where she will go to Chicago for a visit with her daughter there before returning return-ing home. Sadies mother, who is visiting from Grand Jet., Colo. (Mrs. Phyllis Quintana) accompanied Sadie to Salt Lake City. Sadie Dutos said that Thompson had visitors of importance Friday. It was Teddy Kennedy Jr. and 4 ot his friends and body guards. They stayed one night at the AAKI NOTICE A. A. H I', members don't forjjet ur "Pot Luck" picnic Friday, June 27th at 5 p.m. at Cane Springs park by the Hole in the Rock. Bring your own plates, cups and silverware and a covered dish. Coffee and punch will be served with the food. Anyone who does not have a way to go call President Eldcrkin at 259-7146 or Madge Warde at 259-7374. In case we get rained out at the park, we'll drive back and meet at the Senior Citizens Hall. |
