Show i i r A! . Walter W.Lea Services Set for Thursday For Walter IV. Lea Masonic services will be held at 11 a.m. June 26 for Walter W. Lea, TexasGulf Potash Plant Maintenance Superintendent, who died June 24 following a lengthy illness. Born Jan. 11, 1917 at Silver Creek, Neb., Walt Lea had his schooling there. As a young man, he went into business with his father, learning the electrician's trade in Stevens-ville, Stevens-ville, Mont. It was there that he married Jean Chesmore on Nov. 16, 1940. He was a staff sergeant with army ordinance during World War II, serving 32 months overseas in Africa and Italy. Known as a simple man, honesty and kindness were attributes which were appreciated appre-ciated by his friends and colleagues alike. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church and LaSal Lodge No. 30, F&AM, where he was Worshipful Master in 1973-74. During his working career he was also chief electrician and maintenance superintendent superinten-dent with Calera Mines, Cobalt, Ida.; assistant maintenance main-tenance superintendent with Manganese, Inc., Henderson, Nev.; and maintenance superintendent super-intendent with Tungsten, Inc., Henderson, N.C. prior to coming to Moab 13 years ago. Survivors include his widow, 2 daughters, Gail and Marcia; a twin brother, David Lea, Brevard, N.C .; a brother, Richard Lea, Billings, Mont., and a sister, Erna Russell, Sapulpa, Okla. Pallbearers are Bill Buchanan, Buchan-an, Bobby Hawks, Art Martin, Wayne Alexander, Ev Schu-maker Schu-maker and John Levering. Honorary pallbearers are Rudy Higgins, Tony Fratto, D. C. Winters and Glenn Byers. Following services here, he will be taken to Stevensville, Mont, by Turner Funeral Home for services and burial there under the direction of Whitesitt Mortuary. |
