Show Thompson News Notes. . . By Betty Jeffries Memorial Day Dana Rogers opened Don Baldwin's Bald-win's Conoco Station for the summer here in Thompson. It looks as if he is going great guns serving our touring public. pub-lic. Keep it up and good luck Dana. Saturday morning early. ear-ly. Sheryl Jeffries and daughters, Jennie and Julie and Sheryl's parents. par-ents. Mr. and Mrs. Ros-co Ros-co Austin of Montrose. Colorado stopped briefly at Jess and Betty Jeffries Jef-fries home in Thompson Thomp-son on their way to Po-caiella, Po-caiella, Idaho to visit Sheryl's two brothers and families for a few days. Sheryl is the wife of Jim Jeffries. Jess' oldest son who lives in Grand Junction. Colo. Pat Wimmer took a weekend trip to Nevada. It took one of his horses over to some friends. He said he had pickup trouble trou-ble and almost had to ride the horse. Glad to see you and the pickup made it back in tack. Betty Jeffries opened the Tourist Information Center June 4th increscent incres-cent Junction for the summer. This is just a temporary small trailer until 1-70 is completed and the two lovely accommodations ac-commodations are built for this purpose. Ted and Lillian Miller have had Lillian's mother moth-er with them for a visit. Mrs. Sando lives in Denver, Den-ver, Colorado. Mother Nature is still giving us unpredictable weather. However, we can almost count on rain every weekend at least one day. This does make our desert green and means we don't have to water our gardens and lawns so often. The gas shortage has not stopped the endless line of tourist traffic going through our beautiful beauti-ful state. Believe it or not much of this traffic is stopping to drink in our beauty too. |
