Mrs. David (Lynda) Laugh 1 in. Convention Chairman, announced that the theme of the convention will be "Southern Charm". The events of the weekend week-end will get under way-Friday, way-Friday, June S. when registration re-gistration will begin at Convention headquarters at the Ram a da Inn from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meetings Meet-ings for State Officers and Past State presidents presid-ents will be held at 11 a.m. Registration will continue from 3 to 5 p.m., following the Educational Ed-ucational workshops which will start at 2 p.m. Following the Rodeo Parade, in which the ESA state officers will participate, parti-cipate, the members will meet at the Lions Park for a candidates fair. At this time all members seeking offices for the coming year will present their campaign bids for office. A steak clinnei . catered by the Moab Lions Li-ons Club and a mixer party entitled "Rive rboat Gamblers Night" will round out the evening. A breakfast honoring incoming in-coming and outgoing chapter presidents will be held Saturday morning morn-ing at 7:30 a.m. Registration Regis-tration for Saturday will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to nnon. 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Ra-mada Ra-mada Inn and from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the American Am-erican Legion Hall. The 1st General Assembly As-sembly will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday when State President Mrs. Rav (Ethel) Pfeifer will declare de-clare the convention officially of-ficially in session. Mayor May-or Winford Runce will welcome the delegates to Moab. A report on registration regi-stration to that time will be given by Mrs. George (Judy) Huffman. Men's entertainment for the day will include a "Mint Julep" Ju-lep" luncheon in the hospitality hos-pitality room which will be open throughout the convention under the direction di-rection of Mrs. Dale (Barbara) Peterson. Members will enjoy the "Mardi Gras" luncheon at noon, supervised by Mrs. Larry (Jean) Ray-burn, Ray-burn, Contest Chairman and 2nd Vice President, where awards for the years accomplishments and contests will be presented. pre-sented. Following a break, the members will convene again for the 2nd General Assembly where Mrs. Danzo(Else) Shiramizu of Roy, Utah, ESA International Parliamentarian Parli-amentarian will deliver the keynote address to the convention. Voting for the coming years officers of-ficers will follow this assembly. The American Legion Hall will be the site of the Installation of Officers Offi-cers for 1973-74 and Installation In-stallation of the Men of ESA at 6:30 p.m. Cocktails, Cock-tails, dinner and dancing at the "Plantation Ball" will follow. An Inspirational Service Ser-vice at 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning will be held, prior to the "Kentucky Derby" Brunch at 9:30 a.m. Musical selections will be presented by Er-es Er-es Young. The 3rd General Gen-eral Assembly will convene con-vene at 11 a.m. At this time the site of the 1974 Convention Council meeting sites and the chapter receiving the bid for publication of the state newsletter will be announced. Outgoing President Presi-dent Ethel Pfeifer ofOg-den, ofOg-den, Utah, whose theme for the year has been 'Harmony Brings Peace' will present the gavel to Incoming President Judy Ann Scott of Green River, Utah. Following the announcement an-nouncement of appointed officers for 1973-74 the 20th Annual Convention will be declared closed. Alpha Rho Chapter of Moab will hostess a display dis-play room all three days of the convention, where scrapbooks, yearbooks, histories and rush entires en-tires will be on exhibit. Other local citizens assisting as-sisting with the convention conven-tion are Ron Carlisle, Mrs. Sam (Adrien) Taylor Tay-lor and Mrs. Robert(Ar-leen) Robert(Ar-leen) Ruggeri who acted as scrapbook judges at the request of Mrs. Richard Ri-chard (Dorothy) McBeth of the State Awards Committee. |
