Show a workable plan A relatively insignificant change in the manner in which garbage is collected in National Forest areas in this region will be made this year, and it sounds like a good idea to us. Rather than attempting to maintain the individual in-dividual garbage cans scattered hither and yon around the mountain areas, the Forest Service will now maintain only centrally located garbage pickup points in major campgrounds, road junctions, etc. We are sure this will make for easier handling of a messy problem, and should be no real inconvenience in-convenience for those who camp. Carrying garbage to a central point in a plastic garbage sack is much better than putting it into an isolated can which is already full to overflowing with somebody else's junk. |
