George Evans of Moab, Utah, were united in marriage Saturday, .. August 19, 7:00, p.m., at the United Methodist Church .in Digh-ton, Digh-ton, Kansas. Rev. Norman Hays, Assembly of God, Manhattan, Man-hattan, Kansas, performed the double -ring ceremony. The. organ played by Mrs. Beverly Kaupp and the piano played by Janell Koester accompanied Mrs. Linda Grumbein and Vernon Erb of Moab, Utah. Linda sang "We've Only Just Begun" and "The Lord's Prayer". Vernon sang "More" and "It Seems I've Always Loved You." The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a floor-length, empire gown of schiffli embroidered organza with blue ribbon threaded through the white Viennese lace; beading ac-centuating ac-centuating the high neck collar col-lar forming an illusion yoke, the rennaissance sleeves, and bordering the Juliette cap and Mantilla veil. The A-line skirt was slightly dirndled and a huge bow at the waist back topped the long wide tapered sashes to meet the tiny pull . train of her skirt back. She carried a lace cross with pink sweetheart roses arranged on it. Maid of honor was Colette Schaffer of Alamota, and bridesmaids were Luetta En-gler, En-gler, and Janice Brady, cousins cous-ins of the bride. They wore floor-length gowns of Dlue printed tricot with U-shaped neckline and short puffed sleeves. The empire waist was trimmed with blue taffeta taf-feta and tied in a big bow with falling streamers at the back of the dress. Each attendant at-tendant wore a velvet choker chok-er and blue hat which . were trimmed to match the dress. They carried candles in a brandy glass with pink car-rations car-rations accenting. The flower girl, Desiree Schwartz, cousin of the bride and taperlighter, Marietta Schwartz, sister of the bride and RoseMary Evans, sister of the groom, wore dresses identical to the bridesmaids. Desirees' headpiece was a band of pink carnations. RoseMary and Marietta wore pink bows in their hair. Steven Ratzlaff served as .ring bearer. He wore a doub-le-brested white tuxedo with a pink boutonniere. Serving as best man was Ron Evans, brother of the groom, and Ken Poe and EI-win EI-win Schwartz, brother of the bride, serving as groomsmen. Blue continnental tuxedos were worn by the groom and groomsmen. The groom wore a pink rosebud boutonnier; the groomsmen wore pink carnation bountionners. Ushers were Darrel Schwartz, Sch-wartz, brother of the bride, Ken Pike and Lynn Kaupp. The mother of the bride chose an aqua double-knit dress accented with white lace. The bridegroom's mother mo-ther wore a navy blue and white double-knit dress. Their corsages were of pink sweetheart roses. Georgia Rosenbach, sister of the groom, presided at the guest book. Mrs. Janice Mc-Millen, Mc-Millen, Peggy Tebbutt, Corliss Cor-liss Nikkei, Debbie and Glen-dora Glen-dora Schwartz, cousins of the bride, and Becky Chism attended at-tended the gifts. Brent Schwartz, Sch-wartz, Lynette Goodman and Charlene Engler, all cousins of the bride, handed out bags. Following the ceremony, was a reception at Wesley Hall. Reception assistants were Mrs. Norma and Mrs. Margene Bolen, both aunts of the groom, Mrs. Beverly Kaupp and Janell Koester. The table was centered by a "Kissin Couple" in a garden-house garden-house topped three teired cake which nested on a petal-shaped vase trimmed with wedding bells, hearts, and blue roses. Mrs. Bessie Helzer baked and decorated the cake. The bride is a 1971 graduate gradu-ate from Dighton High School and a 1972 graduate of Manhattan Area Vocational Vocation-al Technical School. Her major was Business Education. Educa-tion. The groom is a 197o graduate grad-uate of Hcaly High School and attended Garden City Community Junior College. He is now employed by City Market of Montrose, Colo. Following the wedding trip the newlyweds will live at 21 S. Pythian Avenue, Montrose, Colorado. |
