Show Clinic Getting More Equipment, Looking at New Facility Dr. Richard Call, Medical Director Utah Valley LDS Hospital, Provo, Mr. Grant Burgon, Administrator, Utah Valley LDS Hospital, Provo, Mr. Clarence Wonnacott, Trustee, LDS Hospital Services Ser-vices Corp. Salt Lake and Dr. James Mason, Medical Director, LDS Hospital Services Ser-vices Corp. Salt Lake accompanied accom-panied Dr. Eugene Davie, Chief of the Emergency Room Staff at Utah Valley LDS Hospital, Provo, to Hanksville Friday wh3ft they met with the Medical Clinic's Board of Directors for a morning meeting. The main topic of business was the clinic's outstanding progress pro-gress to this date and how it can be aided and funded by future planned projects. Plans are in the making for additional equipment and possibly a new building. The clinic's Board reported that Dr. Smoot, associated with the hospital at Dragerton and his associates had donated to the Hanksville clinic medical medi-cal equipment which was brought to the clinic the fore part of the week by Gary Carlin, Tom Tilartain, Hope Miller and Nina Robison of the clinic staff. More equipment equip-ment will be added Tuesday when additional trucks are sent to Dragerton. Before flying back to Provo the group enjoyed melons at the Harold Ekker ranch. The Stockholders (22) in the Town Hall (formly the old LDS Church) met in a special meeting Friday evening ev-ening with Dean Ekker, president, pres-ident, conducting. The purpose pur-pose of this meeting was to explain the need for ground by the Medical Center Board for their newly planned Medical facility. Ground desired de-sired lies west of the Town Hall. Feelings were expressed express-ed that this desired location d.dn't allow for any expansion expan-sion and was quite close to school and cafe and motel and noise would be a factor when the clinic had bed patients. pa-tients. Wels and Wynna Mul-ford Mul-ford stated they'd donate needed ground for a new clinic clin-ic building as did Larry Ekker. Ek-ker. Both own ground near the present clinic site. Officers Offic-ers Were to be elected for the Town Hall but only half of the stockholders were pres ent and it was agreed that the present officers, Dean Ekker, Alvin Robinson, and Kay Hurt with Rae Lene Ekker Ek-ker as secretary, should remain re-main in office. |
