Show Sororify Makes Annual Awards at Recent Meet & Members of Beta Eta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Sig-ma Alpha recently announced an-nounced their selections for Outstanding Pledge and Outstanding Girl of the Year. Receiving a gold jonquil charm for Outstanding Pledge was Mrs. George (Judy) Huffman. Mrs. Huffman joined ESA a year ago and in that time has worked diligently on every ev-ery chapter project. She has served as the Welfare Wel-fare Chairman, and as a member of the Awards Aw-ards Committee. She has chairmaned a stationary sales project, and took charge of the chapter scrapbook after the departure de-parture of the former chairman. Mrs. Huffman Huff-man has participated in the individual award program pro-gram of the sorority and has obtained her First Pearl Award and charm. An elementary teacher at Helen M. Knight School, Mrs . Huffman is also active in church activities activ-ities and is an accomplished accom-plished cellist, formerly with the Utah Symphony Orchestra. Named as the Outstanding Outstand-ing Girl of the Year and presented with a commemorative com-memorative charm was Mrs. David (Lynda) Laughlin. Mrs. Laughlin has served thispastyear as Parliamentarian of the Utah State Council of ESA. Currently she is Chairman of the State Convention to be held in Moab in June. She has also served on the International Council Publicity Task Force Committee. Other positions posi-tions fulfilled include President of Beta Eta Chapter, Vice President and chairmanship of various var-ious committees. Other honors earned by Mrs. Laughlin include the 3rd Degree of Pallas Athene and 1st Place in the International In-ternational Essay Contest Con-test in 1971. A substitute substi-tute teacher, Mrs. Laughlin is active in the WAAIME and Sheriff's .R.v);fV:;:: Barbara Peterson received her five year pin in recent ceremonies. Posse Auxiliary. Also honored with a charm for five years of service was Mrs. Dale (Barbara) Peterson. Mrs. Peterson, a charter char-ter member of Beta Kla. has served in many elected el-ected and appointed positions posi-tions in the chapter, including in-cluding President. She was named the Outstanding Outstand-ing (Jirl of the Year in 1971. Mrs. Peterson has served for several years as Chairman of the Blood Mobile and is also very active with her ice business busi-ness and with the C.C.-R.M.A. C.C.-R.M.A. F.psilon Sigma Alpha is an international leadership lea-dership organization for women which emphasizes emphasiz-es educational, philanthropic philan-thropic and social activities. activ-ities. Beta Kta chapter in Moab is one of more than 1800 chapters around ar-ound the world. Local philanthropic projects during the past year have included the Blood Mobile. Mo-bile. Amblyopic Clinic, School Kye Tests, (iiri Scout Fund Drive. Sponsoring Spon-soring the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon and Canister Drive, and assisting as-sisting with the Cleanup Clean-up Campaign and March of Dimes Tclerama.
