Show Moab Man Mow At Utah State For Training LOGAN, UTAH - William G. Canning, 343 Opal Ave. Moab is one of 10 participants partici-pants in the Prospective 'Teacher Fellowship Program Pro-gram at Utah State University.- The program began September Sep-tember 8 and will conclude August 21, 1970. Participants will take 13 hours of combined undergraduate under-graduate - graduate work each of the three quarters & will spend a fourth quarter in a 15-hour student teaching teach-ing program. Those who successfully suc-cessfully complete the program pro-gram will receive a master of education degree in secondary sec-ondary education. Each PTFP fellow will receive $2,000 per academic year plus $400 per dependent. depend-ent. For the summer quarter, quar-ter, the stipend is $400 per fellow and $100 per dependent. depend-ent. No tuition will be charged. charg-ed. Participants are between 30 and 55 years of age, must toe retired or recently discharged dis-charged from military service, ser-vice, must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above and have a desire to obtain a teaching certificate in secondary school social studies. Co-directors of the program pro-gram are Dr. Douglas D. Alder, Al-der, USU assistant professor of history, and Richard Knight, assistant professor profes-sor of secondard education. The program is financed by an award from the U. S. Office of Education. |
