Show Chamber Gives Go Ahead For Crescent Signs Members of Moab's Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce decided Tuesday to erect signs at Crescent Junction showing the information center in the cafe and service station there. Members of the Chamber decided, after a great deal of debate to go ahead and place three signs at the Junction. The signs, already made out not lettered will simply direct di-rect tourists into the facilities facili-ties there for information Two of the signs are 8' by 8' and the other is 4' by Chamber members decided not to incur additional expense ex-pense for larger, more elaborate elab-orate signs at this time. Members of local businesses business-es were urged not to direct tourists around the loop road at this time. The road, which is undergoing construction, con-struction, is not in good condition con-dition and people unfamiliar with the area may damage their vehicles if they travel it. Three upcoming meetings were discussed by members during their noon session. The meeting concerning the Delores Triangie loop road on September 25 was one of these meetings discussed. The proposed road would be by agreement between Grand County and the State of Colorado and would extend ex-tend from Colorado Monument Monu-ment to Highway 128 at Dewey De-wey Bridge. The other two meetings discussed concerned the proposed rest stop at the Thompson Interchange on I-70. I-70. The first meeting will be Wednesday evening in Monticello Mon-ticello at 7:30 p.m. for a dinner din-ner and will be for a pre-site pre-site discussion by representatives represen-tatives from the State Department De-partment of Highways, Grand and San Juan County Commissioners, and the Utah Travel Council. Another Anoth-er meeting of this same group will be held Thursday, September 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Thompson. |
