Show Vandalism, Robbery Investigated Here This Week by Police Occurances of vandalism and robbery as well as several sev-eral accidents kept the men of the Moab Cily Police Department De-partment busy this week. Sept. l, Frank Dvigui Taylor Tay-lor and Isaac Maestas, Jr., were stopped after they were observed to be racing down Center Street at 1:25 a.m. The two men were given a breathalizer test and were charged with DWI and turned turn-ed over to City Court. David Bigham was followed from a local cafe to a local tavern and was then arrested arrest-ed for DWI on Sept. 11. His license was suspended after he appeared in City Court. An accident at 12:45 p.m. Sept. 12, caused a total of $8 JO damage to the two vehicles ve-hicles involved. A car driven driv-en by Billy Robert Cook was stopped at ,182 So. Main St. waiting for a car to make a left turn when a vehicle driven dri-ven by Ray Lynn Walden hit the rear of the Cook car. There were no injuries and Waldon was cited for following follow-ing too close and causing an accident. Sept. 12 continued as a busy day for the force as two more accidents occurred. The first involved Moreen Pettiti who was headed south on Main at 2nd North, and Laurie Laur-ie Sherman, who was trying to make a left turn headed north. Miss Sherman turned into the Fettiti car and caused caus-ed about $1,000 in damages to the two vehicles. Miss Sherman Sher-man was cited for failure to yield the right of way and Moreen Pettiti was cited for driving with an expired license. li-cense. The third accident of the day occurred one hour biter at 7:30 p.m. at the Poor Boy Drive-Inn when a parked car belonging to Janice Mahl-stede Mahl-stede rolled back and hit the car of Larry Daley. About $120 in damages resulted but no citations were issued. June Sneddon, who recently recent-ly moved to Moab, was ar- " r sled Saturday, Sept. 13 for DWI and no driver's license. The case was referred to Ci:y Court. An act of vandalism was discovered Monday, Sept. 15 at a house on Nichols Lane, when six juveniles were discovered dis-covered inside without permission. per-mission. A burglary was discovered after Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gibson returned home from a visit with friends at 10:30 p.m. Sunday. The family had been away from the house for about two hours and when they returned and found that the bedroom window had been entered when someone had removed a screen, they contacted police. Five rings valued at about $250 were reported re-ported stolen as well as some cufflinks and several bottles of alcoholic beverages. Fingerprints Fing-erprints were taken and the matter is under investigation. |
