Show Mental Health Program Going Ahead in Grand Grand County Commissioners Commis-sioners Monday signed the State Mental Health Contract Con-tract for 1970 that approved a 40 percent grant from the State to help pay costs for Mental Health Care in this area. The State will pay 40 per cent of the $7175 needed to operate Mental Health facilities fac-ilities here. In addition to the amount paid by the State the schools will pay $1000 toward to-ward these costs. This will leave $3305 to come out of the County Fund. This money will support a clinic held once a month in Moab. The clinic is staffed by two psychologists, Mrs. Prudence Scott, Moab, and Hugh Bigham, phd. of Grand Junction. There is also a psychiatrist, R. E. Troy of Grand Junction and a Phy-chiatric Phy-chiatric Social Worker, Jer-miah Jer-miah of American Fork. Mrs. Hannah Pitman Public Health Heal-th Nurse in Grand County also helps in this clinic along with a secretarial staff. The clinic accepts appointments appoint-ments from people referred longer accepts self-referrals, doctors, members of the clergy cl-ergy and Family Services Agencies. Although the clin.- no Jonger accepts self-referals, anyone who feels he has an emotional problem: can go to one of these referral sources and be sent to the clinic. The clinic operates on a charge basis according to ability to pay. All fees collected col-lected go to help finance a costly operation with payment pay-ment left primarily to the County , |
