Near Grand County's booth is San Juan's. It includes an attractive display of the county's scenic features and industrial products. Grand County is again being be-ing represented by a display. The County's booth is in (the Horticulture Building where numerous other counties, coun-ties, of the state have their agricultural products on display. dis-play. Grand, like several other counties, - is not a prime agricultural area, its products being mainly mining min-ing and scenery, . both of which are displayed . by ;. , a series of 12 lighted panels. Tourism si being emphasized empha-sized at the booth with a sign saying, "Do Your Thing in Canyonlands." Following is a list of such things as auto tours, jeeping, sightseeing, sight-seeing, trail biking, flying, horsebacking, boating, fish-and fish-and hunting. Another promotional device de-vice at the booth this year is the invitation to register ing and hunting. which will receive a free jet boat cruise for two into Canyonlands Can-yonlands with Tex's Colorado Colora-do River Cruises. This publicity pub-licity device causes the visi- tors to linger a little longer than ' usual at the booth and gives opportunity for discussing discus-sing vacation plans. Several hundred Moab pro-motional pro-motional packets, containing the Canyonlands Vacationer newspaper, have been passed pass-ed out to visitors at the Fair by Dick Wilson, who is attending the booth. Other brochures of the Canyonlands Canyon-lands area are available including in-cluding the new two-county cooperative brochure. Reactions of the people to the County's display range from "uninterested" to "that is our favorite vacation spot." Numerous contacts relate re-late that they have lived in Utah for ' several years but hadn't, been to the Canyonlands Canyon-lands region yet. Numerous out of state visitors visi-tors stop by the Canyonlands Canyon-lands display and .ask questions. ques-tions. Some- of these persons are not on a tight schedule and appear to be interested in seeing the Canyon Country. |
