Show Diabetes Group Met Here On Wednesday The second meeting of the Moab Unit of the Utah American Diabetes Association Associa-tion met at the hospital dining room on Wednesday evening Oct. 20. They are organized with the following officers: Chairman. Mrs. Judy Martin; Chairman elect. Mrs. Lorie Lindon; Secretary, Mrs. Barbara James; Treasurer, Byron East-on; East-on; Fund Raising, Mrs. Sue Graves; Membership, Fred Marklc; Program, Mrs. Vivian Arthur; and temporary publicity. publi-city. Ila Corbin. The unit's object is public education, research, detection, detec-tion, and patient and professional profes-sional education. They have the support of all of the doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and mental health department. Some studies report that in one out of five families in America lives a diabetic and the disease is 4000 years old. Charles Hand, Utah Director, Direct-or, and Warren Braden, Western Region 'representative 'representa-tive of California praised the organization as perhaps the outstanding one of the 14 units they had visited recently. It is the desire that anyone in the region from La Sal to Thompson and Elgin will come to the next meeting which will be in November. |
