Show Community Improvement Seminar Held The Utah Federation of Women's Clubs Eastern District Dis-trict held a fall board meeting and Community Improvement Seminar in Price, October 16 at the College of Eastern Utah. Mrs. Ted J. Diamanti, Helper, lt Vice President, presided for Mrs. Donald Hatch, Spring Glen district president who has been ill. Pledge was led by Edria Andregg, president of Green River Woman's Club. District Secretary, Mrs. Sidney Sid-ney Pool, Moab, gave the thought for the day and roll call. State Education Department Depart-ment Chairman, Mrs. Earl McAlpine, Price, presented guest speakers Sheldon All-red, All-red, State Education Board member and candidate for president, who spoke on "Needs of Higher Education" "and Marge"v'Sewards,' ' Price ivCity -Libfaria'riWh!':s'p6'Ke''"0ri ' 'Needs ief-'Libraries. " ' The U.F.W.C. project is "Aid for Libraries in all 10 Districts." State Health Chairman, Mrs. Myrtle Boyner, presented a film on "Cafe Coronary" or Aid to Choking Victim and International Hospitality was explained by Mrs. Diamanti. State president, Mrs. Thomas Barker, Ogden, gave the overall U.F.W.C. program for 1976-1978 and Miss Eleanor Gail Bennet, Park City, State 3rd vice president spoke on Membership. District business was attended to and luncheon was served in the college cafeteria. The afternoon session was moderated by Mrs. Diamanti with welcome by Dr. Al Trujillo of the college. The panel on resources consisted of Dr. Trujillo, Gary Tomsic, Price City Councilman, Guido Rachiele-Carbon County Commissioner Com-missioner and Dave Powell-local Powell-local Sears, Roebuck manager. Mrs. Wendall Winger, Spring-ville, Spring-ville, State Leadership chairman chair-man and past state president, state CIP chairman and SFWC CIP chairman gave the goals and objectives of CIP and Mrs. Barker gave "The Charge." Local ladies attending were Mrs. Pool and Mrs. Del Shermer, Woman's Literary Club President. Other members mem-bers of the board are Mrs. Harold Jacobs, Home Life Chairman and Mrs. Jen Pope, Civic Improvement Chairman. |
