Show HOUSE WAITED TO WATCH ACTION OF THE SENATORS The House of Representatives recommitted recom-mitted the Thompson bill, which is for the consolidation of the University of Utah and Agrlfultural college. In order that the members might watch the progress of the fight before the Senate. The bill was sent back to ?he Education Educa-tion committee to await the action of the Senate. When the bill came before the House In the morning, Thompson was absent. After a short squabble, a messenger was sent for Thompson, to Inform lilm to be present at the afternoon session If possible. pos-sible. Thompson was present in tho afternoon, af-ternoon, when the bill again came up. Representative Wer.tphal asked that fhe bill be recommitted. Kuchler strenuously strenuous-ly objected to this, and declared that It would do no good as the. members of the committee had already decided what stand they would take. Pederaon of Cache said that he knew where he stood on the proposition and he believed the others did. Not so with Thompson. He tni6 a strong plea that the bill be referred, which waa done. |
