Show "GET ACQUAINTED" IDEA MAKES A HIT WITH BIG CROWD The "Get Acquainted" meeting at the Chamber of Commerce last night wsa a success. Nearly 300 invited guests, including many members of the Legislature, were present. President O. H. Hewlett of the M. and M. association delivered an address of welcome, after which J. M. Marriott, State president of the Retail Merchants' Mer-chants' association, spoke on the benefits bene-fits of co-operation that was listened to with marked attention. Arthur . Parsons, president of the Utah Credit Men's association, talked on "The Benefits of Home Industry." The speaker showed that he was familiar fa-miliar with the subject. Secretary Horace 8. Ensign of the State Fair association urged the manufacturers manu-facturers of the State to bring exhibits to. the Chamber of Commerce building, where they could be viewed by the thousands who visited the rooms. Other ' speakers, all of whom spoke on the subject sub-ject of home industry, were Edwin Williams Wil-liams of Oeden, J. M Lindsay of Tav-lorrville, Tav-lorrville, JV 8. Carver of Ogden. Mr. Sfatton of Murray and A. Hudson of ri-f Lake. meeting was the first of a series rtionthly receptions that will be heldfor the advancement of the interests inter-ests of the merchants and manufacturers manufac-turers of the State as well as the people peo-ple in general. |
