Show Pardons Board Considers Pleas in 2 Killing Cases The state board of pardons late Monday was considering; applications applica-tions of two men convicted In murder mur-der cases, after holding open hearings hear-ings at its December meeting. Mrs. Millie Montano, wife of Victor Vic-tor Montano. 34-year-old convicted convict-ed participant in the robbery plot which led to the execution-slaying January 3 of Sherman W, CadwelL aged Tooele county trapper, appeared ap-peared in her husband's behalf. She said a nephew. Fermlen Sandoval, San-doval, 17, whose testimony helped convict Montano, claimed he was "forced" to testify against his uncle un-cle because of alleged pressure by Tooele county officers. Montano, convicted with two other men, is serving a 15-year sentence. The only other murder case clemency application considered was that of Fred Noble Endel, 40, serving a 40-year term for his part in the robbery-murder on March 27, 1933, of Mrs. Freda M. Gibson, 75, at her home, 180 West Seventh Sev-enth South street. |
