Show Hinckley to Inspect Utah Pilot Schools CAA Chairman Praises Reports From Training on - Arrival From Washington Robert H. Hinckley of Ogden, chairman of the civil areonautics authority in Washington, D. C, arrived in Salt Lake City from Den-, Den-, ver Monday by United Air lines, for a visit to the pilot training schools of Utah. During thvweek, Mr. Hinckley said, he will "visit the University of Utah, Utah State Agricultural college and Weber college. Good reports of the student pilot courses in Utah and throughout the United States have come to Mr. Hinckley. "The progress being made," he said, "is excellent."' He has recently been visiting the schools in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado Colo-rado and New Mexico. More than 10,000 young men throughout the country are enrolled in courses. The civil aeronautics authority, he said, is continuing its rigid program pro-gram of combating careless flying, and prosecutes cases of flagrant violation of the rules of safety. Mr. Hinckley will stay in Utah until after Christmas. He declined to comment oh the proposed United Air Lines-Western Air Express merger, on which a hearing will be held by the commission com-mission at Washington, D. C, In January. |
