Show Tree Trimmer Treed in Treo After Accident Persons In the vicinity of 962 Second avenue peered curiously through the branches of a tall box-elder box-elder tree Tuesday. The object which they saw swaying gently in the breeze looked like a man but It didn't show any signs of life. Closer scrutiny convinced them It was, indeed, a man. They hastily hasti-ly summoned the fire department. Firemen, under Captain G. N. Ottlnger, rushed to the scene. A ladder was placed against the box-elder, box-elder, and Fireman W. A. , Lind hurried upward. Fifty feet above the ground, he found Alfred J. Rhodes, 26, of 466 East Fourth South street, a tree trimmer, just beginning to regain consciousness. He had been working work-ing on the branches when a chain, part of his paraphernalia, broke, and a piece struck him on the head, rendering him unconscious. His safety belt kept him from falling. Fireman Lind lowered him to the ground by a rppe; Mr. Rhodes was given first aid for a gash In his ' scalp, taken to his home.
