Show Chizar Wins Decision in Close Scrap By CARLISLE STOUT Nicky (Big Shoet) Chizar won a hairline 10-round decliion from Pete Giacoma Monday night la tht boxing headliner at McCullough'i arena, but local fight faithful! were (till arguing about the decision de-cision until the wee email hours Tuesday morning, the battle was that close. Referee Morrie Lesser, without benefit of the customary two judges, held up Chlzar's right hand tn token of victory Immediately Immedi-ately after the final bell. Lesser gave five rounds to Chizar, four to Giacoma and called one even, he asserted. The Telegram score sheet showed similar results. Exciting Battle . Not a soul In the local arena contested con-tested the fact that the fight was close very close. Even Lesser said that Chizar had a slight "but clean cut decision" In what was the second sec-ond fierce scrap between the two sharpshooters In recent weeks. They battled to a bitterly contested draw In 'their previous session. Chizar took the fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth and tenth rounds, according to Leaser's version, while Giacoma won the first three and the fifth. The ninth was called even. Chizar threw a mighty left hook In the sixth and a hard right to the midriff as a flurry of rights and lefts had Pete weaving. Nicky landed a hard right to the head and a terrific left hook to the face in the seventh and In the eighth connected with some mora left hooks. The ninth was even, or a shade for Chizar. Pete threw two hard left hooks, but Chizar came back with a mighty right to the face and the blow was heard all over the house. Chizar was given the final round as he carried the fight and kept scoring repeatedly with sharp, well directed punches. Giacoma was cut slightly beneath be-neath his right eye and he came out of the fray with a pair of swollen lips, while Chizar was unmarked. un-marked. Pparee Scores Kaye Arcade (Windmill) Pearce won a T. K. O. from K. O. Jackson in the fourth of the scheduled six-round six-round semlwindup. Jackson was knocked down In the third for a nine count and was badly punished by Pearce' haymakers.
