Show BRITISH SMELL, j VRECKVESSEL REYKJAVIK, Iceland, Nov. SI (UP) A British warship shelled and wrecked a merchant ship, believed be-lieved to be German, off the southern south-ern coast of Ireland yesterday, it was learned today. The merchant ship, which was reported to have been flying another an-other flat to conceal its nationality, nation-ality, was set afire and stranded on a reef after the British man o' war had fired 14 shots Into it. The crew, it was believed, had been taken aboard the warship. The merchant ship, now a hopeless hope-less wreck on a desolate, sandy beach, was boarded today to establish es-tablish its Identity. |
