Show GUN BATTLE FOUGHT IN DOWNTOWN L. A. LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (INS) In a running gun battle which forced hundreds of pedestrians and motorists in downtown Los Angeles to scurry for cover, one of two bandits who attempted to hold up a wholesale liquor and cigar company com-pany today was shot and captured. The suspect, Albert Perhab, 38, wounded in the shoulder and right hand, told police he was released last June from San Quentin prison after serving seven years for a "hold-up Job I didn't do." He said he made up his mind to shoot it out with six policemen rather than go back to prison |
