Show WARNING ISSUED ON YULLTREES J. E Gurr, superintendent of the ! Wasatch national forest, issued a warning Monday against theft of Chnitmai treej from the fore.ij, and aaid that those who took trees from canyons near Salt Lake City would surely be prosecuted if caught by the fore.it patrol. Mr. (Jurr said the only trees avail- ahla in tha fnrrj wal .limitpj number in the upper reaches of the Provo river watershed, where thinning thin-ning is being done. The forestry official also warned' against smoking in the forest, pointing point-ing out that an "extreme fire hazard" haz-ard" exists because of unseasonable dryness. The forest service has completed a 60 by 30-foot log shelter, with a big fireplace, at the outdoor camp in Big Cottonwood canyon. Mr. Gurr announced. This will be available to winter sports enthusiasts. |
