Talmage, Mrs. Joseph T. Kingsbury University of Utah Women's Club Fetes Presidents' Wives For the first time, wives of four presidents of the University of Utah had met Monday and reminisced. The four Mrs. James E. Tal-mage. Tal-mage. Mrs. John A. Widtsoe, Mra. , Joseph T. Kingsbury and Mra. George Thomas were swarded hon- ' orary Hfe memberships in ths University Uni-versity of Utah Women'a club In recognition of their services to the school. Wearing white peonies given them by the club, the four aat in the Union building lounge while Mrs. Jamea E. Talmage told of the university uni-versity when It was down at West high school. "It's cbsnged a lot since then," she said. "New organisations, new study courses, new faces, and new presidents." Mrs. Tslmage was "first lady" from 1893 to 1897. Under the guidance of Mrs. Kingsbury, Kings-bury, the University Women's club first saw light. It waa fpunded to help wivea of faculty members adjust ad-just themselves and get acquainted with each other. For 23 yeara ahe guided the deatinlea of the club and watched it grow from an organisation organisa-tion of 15 to 20 members. Mra. Widtsoe waa an active member mem-ber of the club from 1916 until ml. guiding it through war daya when the club members established a hostess house for enlisted men. Wife of tha present university president is Mrs. Thomas, who has seen the newest in college buildings, teaching methods snd college students. stu-dents.
