Stoddard, Stod-dard, M, beloved physician hare lor 'many years, and Old Billy, his horse, hastening along the country roads to relieve some case of suffering or distress, dis-tress, will never be seen agsio. The doctor died last nignL Dr. Stoddard was ah typical country physician. H came here In 180 from Minnesota, attracted by the poesibilities of fruit growing, and. though a successful orchardist, he continued his medical practice. His kindliness, generosity and phi-ilanthrophy phi-ilanthrophy won and held for him a ihnst of friends throughout the region. The doctor hsd no children of his own, I but four others found homo with him. Dr. Stoddard was born In Plnlmey, N. Y. His parents were early. pioneer! pio-neer! Jn Wisconsin and died when ke was but a child. Tha doctor obtained a country school education and later taught at Oreenbuih, Wis. He graduated grad-uated from Rush Medical college In 1812. H was married to Sylvia Roes In 1175. He practiced medicine In Oxford, Wis., from 1M1 to 182. He (hen went to Minnesota, where he became member of the state board of education, was one of the electors at the time of President Mc-Kinley's Mc-Kinley's election and became Interested Inter-ested In politics. He was a friend of Senator Robert M. La Foliette of Wisconsin and of the father of Colonel Col-onel Charles A. Lindbergh. Tha doctor arrived In Spanish Fork In ltot and soon owned large and flourishing orchard, but be also found that his services as physician were much needed. He never rode In or drove an automobile. His horse was driven without a bit The doctor and his wife raised four children, Mrs. Carl C. Camp and Mrs. S. V. Trent, both of Salt Lake; two boys, Stoddard and Roaa btlllwelL Mrs. Stoddard died in 1814. Two brothers, Eugene Stoddard of Downey, Wis., end Charles Stoddsrd of Los Angeles, and four sisters. Mrs. Ihad P. Mclntyre of Olivia. Minn.; Mrs. Gertrude Carson of San Bernardino, Bernar-dino, Cel.; Mrs. Cora Douglas and Mrs. Clara King of Los Angeles survive. sur-vive.
