Show 1936 Accident Toll Hits 111,000; Total Cost Set at $3,750,000,000 CHICAGO, Jan. 29 (UP) Floods, drouth, tornadoes. Increased In-creased employment and highway traffic combined to send the 193a accident toll to an all time high, the National Safety council an-nounced an-nounced today. A total of 111,000 persons died violently as a result of accidents, according to the council's annual summary. The previous record was 101,139. in 191. The council estimated that carelessness care-lessness and recklessness cost the nation $2,030,000,000 in wags loss and medical expense, 830,000,000 for property damage in motor vehicle accidents and $390,000,000 for fire loss a grand total at-$3,750,000,000, at-$3,750,000,000, compared with $3,-450.000.000 $3,-450.000.000 tor 1935.
