Show T7ILL STAND BY POTTER Employees of Guardsman ' Expelled by Union, ;,Iake Statement. SCHENECTADY, N. Y4 Jan. 17. In a statement Issued by Shafer & Barry, the Arm against which a strike is being waged by the local painters' union because be-cause of the re-employment of William rotter; who was expelled from the union because of his membership in the National Guard, and who was reinstated rein-stated in the union by order of Justice Howard of the Supreme court, the firm says: "We believe that it is not longer a ciuttan between .unionism and non-unionism non-unionism but it is, on the. contrary, a rjuenjon. between law and lawlessness. We intend to keep this man In our employ em-ploy as long as the courts of the State of 2 ?w York declare him to be a union man, and in this attitude we believe that we have the sympathy and moral .support of the great majority of the ' itixens of Schenectady, both union and non-union." |
