Show BIG DEAL JSJ1ADE J. R. Walker's Heirs Now Control the Big Dry Goods Store. j Through a deal Just consummated M. H. Walker , becomes sole owner of Walker Bros.' . bank, and the J. R. Walker heirs, formerly half owners of the banking-house, take over enough of the Interest of M. H. Walker In Walker Bros. dry goods store to give them control of that institution. It is now said in business circles that M. H. Walker will bring in some of his associates and Incorporate the bank as a stock company. The institution is one of the oldest in the city, having been operated as a private bank. In the amount of business transacted It is one of the leaders among local banks, its resources amounting, according to the last statement issued, to $1,332,412.37, and its individual deposits to more than $1,100,000. As a result of the change in ownership owner-ship Cashier M. J. Cheesman and Assistant As-sistant Cashier J. R. Walker, Jr., will, it is said, soon retire. The J. R. Walker heirs, who now have control of the Walker Bros.' Dry Goods company, contemplate extensive improvements in the mercantile establishment. |
