Show WOULD SHUT OFF THE FLOODGATES OF LOVE Proposals From "Wyoming1 Valley Swamp Mrs. Houghton of Ohio. WILKESBARRE, Pa Jan. 17. With more than 500 proposals of marriage from all sorts and conditions of men at hand, Mrs. Houghton of Southlngton. O., has appealed to Postmaster Hahn I of this city to briny them to a halt She jSays she does not want them, will not accept any, and that the flood of letters Is swamping her peace of mind. Two weeks ago Postmaster Hahn received re-ceived a letter signed by Mrs. Houghton, Hough-ton, saying that she was a fair and buxom widow with a large farm' and a longing quite as broad as her acres for a . husband. For some reason she believed be-lieved the men of Wyoming valley sin-gularly sin-gularly attractive, and the letter Invited In-vited correspondence with them. Mr. ! Hahn published the letter. Then he received re-ceived one from the woman saying that she never wrote it.
