Show DEMANDS OF COAL MINERS ; Convention at Indianapolis to Make New Scale for Bituminous Region. . v INDIANAPOLIS. Ind.. Jan. 17. President Pres-ident John Mitchell fo the United Mine-Workers Mine-Workers will arrive in Indianapolis to-" morrow afternoon and on Monday he will open the miners' annual convention In Tomlinson hall. ' The convention, which will be made up of 120O delegates, representing twenty-four States, promises to be a very notable one. During the first ten days the regular business will come before the delegates, and the wage demands, to be made on the operators In the "bituminous "bi-tuminous competitive district, composed of Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Ohio, will be formulated. It is thought that the convention will decide on a demand ranging from 15 to 20 per cent and that theywill get about 10 per cent. |
