Show HOPE FOR A -CONVICT Got. Wells . Says Give . Fred George Another Chance. Gov. Wells will not revoke the parole of Fred George, the life term convict who ran from his guards Thursday night and at whom several shots were fired in the business portion of the city. While Gov. Wells does not approve George's action In going to Park City, he does not believe that his intentions were criminal by reason of the fact that he returned to the city as soon as he was told he had done wrong. As the telephone company will assure George work for a year, and because of the convict's exemplary conduct since his Incarceration, Gov. Wells will try to Induce the Board of Pardons to continue con-tinue the parole. Acting Warden Wright stated that George has not offered an explanation of his conduct in running from the guards. He is of the opinion that the parole will be revoked. |
