Show MRS. BATES PLAYED HERE Mother of Blanche Bates an Old-Time Salt Lake Favorite Mrs. F. M. Bates, mother of Miss Blanche Batea, who appears at the Grand Monday in "The, Darling of the Gods," has played before ln Salt Lake. Mrs. Bates travels with her daughter and takes care of Miss Bates' business for her, besides playing a part ln the production. To The Telegram Monday she aald: "My daughter is not the only one of the Bates family that Is known In Salt Lake. In the days of Brlgham Toung, Mr. Bates and I were starred here for some time, and while It may sound like boasting, we were favorites of the people peo-ple here.
