Show CARNEGIE TO TESTIFY IN THE CHAD WICK CASE Subpoena Is Served on Him; Woman Will Not Try to Get Bail. Isel and await the examination in New York next Saturday. NEW YORK, Dec. 12. The subpoena calling on Andrew Carnegie to testify in the Chadwick case has been served on Mr. Carnegie. Early today bail had not been secured for the release of Mrs. Cassle L. Chadwick Chad-wick from the Tombs prison nor had she given notice of any intention to waive examination in this city and go to Cleveland for a bearing. Apparently reconciled temporarily to prison restraint and fare, and satisfied that should the attempt to provide the bail now required the amount would be immediately so increased as to become practically prohibitive, it was believed today that Mrs. Chadwick had consented consent-ed to act upon the advice of her coun-. coun-. - |
