Show PORTO RICO SEEKS LABOR CONVENTION SAN FRANCISCO, Nov.. 19. Today's session of the American Federation of Labor occupied the time of the delegates dele-gates for the first few hours in the consideration con-sideration of some of the many reaolu- tions presented. Upon several of these spirited debates were held, notably on that Introduced by the Boot and Shoemakers' Shoe-makers' union. This asked the delegates dele-gates to go on record as favorable to the sentiment that labor organisations are the true protectors of the non-unionists non-unionists and against the claims of Citizens Alliances and Manufacturers' associations that they are the guardians of the rights and liberties of the unorganized unor-ganized workers. After some hot shot had beea poured on what the delegates termed iParryism," the resolution was lost. A resolution asking for back pay for Government workmen was Introduced by First Vice-President Duncan and adopted. " The Porto Rico delegates invited the convention to' hold Its next annual session ses-sion at the city of &an Juan. The announcement an-nouncement was received with applause by the delegates, but consideration of it was deferred until the matter of the next meeting place came before the convention. |
