Show BIGGEST DAY'S TRADING IN MONTHS ON EXCHANGE ; The biggest day's trading dona for many months was recorded on the mining: mi-ning: exchange Saturday morning. Nearly every active stock on the list received attention and although the general trend of the market was decidedly de-cidedly lower the various stocks stood " the heavy trading very well Indeed. Daly opened the market, and selling, lor the first time in weeks, was strong at $2.35 and was held at 32.42 at the close. Lower Mammoth made a nice advance and moved up to 21 cents, but the demand de-mand was soon filled and the stock slumped back to 19 cents asked and 18 cents bid at the close. A large amount of May Day was thrown on the market, but the price did not break at all and was maintained steady at from 32 to 33 cents, closing clos-ing with 32 cents asked and 32 cents ottered. Sacramento was somewhat weak, selling sell-ing down to 10 cents, but it advanced at the close and little stock. came out at that price. Silver 8hleld. was steady at 12 cents, but little stock was obtainable at that price which was freely offered at the ' close. Butler-Liberal was apparently unchanged un-changed and attracted but passing attention, at-tention, being marked at 11 cents with 11 cents, asked, while Century showed about 1 cent advance and was obtainable obtain-able at 16 cents. Beck Tunnel fell off quite rapidly and slumped to 9. cents on active trading, and was held at 10 cents at the close. New. York showed a decided slump and fell off to 23 cents, although it advanced ad-vanced a trifle higher on the open board. Daly West was a trifle weak and did a small amount of business at $13. The concrete foundations for the furnace, have already been completed and the furhace is now In the process of being be-ing set. The Edwards roaster, which will duplicate the one already In use at the plant, has not as yet been landed at the plant but is expected here within a few days at the farthest. Arrangements have been made by the West Quincy of Park City to have that property opened through the workings of the Little Bell. The 600-foot level of the Little Bell will be extended about one mile into West Ijulncy ground, and will prospect a most desirable country for both mines and will also prove up the Lucky Bill. Work has started at once with tne present equipment equip-ment of the Little Bell, but' the compressor compres-sor at the Wolverine will at once be moved over and put into commission at the Ltttle Bell shaft. The drift will tap the Quincy workings at a depth of 5w. feet below the present bottom of the West Quincy shaft. I METAL MARKET. The copper bullion output of the Inde-pndent Inde-pndent valley smelters for the past week exceeds any outnut for many months. The Increase was especially noticeable In Utah Consolidated and Bingham Consolidated. Boston Con. has had a most decided ef- feet not only on the earnings of that .' company, but also on the production of the Bingham Con. smelter. The Boston Con. stopped shipping on the 25th of October, Oc-tober, and since that time has been hun up for lack of mine timbers. It hae been apparently Impossible to . secure the necessary tlmberr, as it is a - certainty that the company would not have lemained hung up bo long if they could have possibly remedied the defl- clency.. It is expected, however, that the tlm-' tlm-' bers necessary for the continuation of work will be landed at the mine before many days have passed, and the shlp- - ments aggregating about 300 tons a day will be continued.
