Show ECHO OF FAILURE OF FRANK .C ANDREWS Mrs. WinnIfred,K. Shaughnessy filed an action In the District court Saturday against Frank C. Andrews and wife, the City Savings bank and the Union Trust company, all of Detroit. The plaintiff asks the court to give her a lien on the Tiewaukee group of 'claims j in the West Mountain Mining district. It is alleged In the complaint that on March 2, 1901, Shaughncsfc-y was indebted in-debted to Andrews in the sum of $13,000, and assigned to him options on the mines. Andrews was to purchase the same for $100,000. Of this amount, $50,-000 $50,-000 was to be paid to W. S. McCornkk j in Installments of $3000 each, and the balance, $33,000, was to be pnld to Win-nifred Win-nifred K. Shaughne'ssy. The entire amount was due July 1,-1302. The List four Installments, amounting to J33.00O, were not paid. It Is alleged that Mc-Cornick Mc-Cornick delivered the deeds to the property prop-erty to Andrews, and that he deiivered them to the City Savings bank. This bank failed on account of the defaulting default-ing of Andrews, who was later sentenced sen-tenced to a long term In the Michigan State prison, but was pardoned by the late Gov. Pingree. Upon the failure of the City Savings bank the deeds to the mining property were transferred to the Union Trust company. I |
