Show CAT TURNED ON THE GAS : . Tabby Nearly Asphyxiate Family by Climbing: on Gas Stove ST. LOUIS, Nov. 28. A house cat climbing about in the night turned the gas on and nearly asphyxiating eight sleeping persons at the home of W. J. ; Dunn, 8414 School street. Mr. Dunn, was awakened at 12:30 o'clock by his daughter, who ' shook him and gave the alarm that the house was full of gas. Afraid to light a match, Mr. Sunn groped his way from one gas jet to another, seeking the leak. He found them all turned off until he reached the kitchen, where a torrent of gas met him when he opened the door. He hurriedly opened the outside door and a window, and a moment later found that the gas stove was turned on. 8:ttlng on a shelf over the stove, stupid stu-pid with gas, sat the house cat Climbing Climb-ing there she bad turned the lever controlling con-trolling the gas supply of the stove. |
