Show DETECTIVE Tramp cn the President's Train Objects to Being Ousted. GILETTE, Wyo., April 25. The secret se-cret service men on the President's train had an exciting mix-up with a tramp last night shortly after the train left Livingston. - A man was discovered between the baggage and club cars on the outside of the vestibule. One of the officers raised the window of the front of the club car and started to grab the man, when the latter aimed a blow at him through the glass, shattering it. The officer caught tl)e man's leg and succeeded In getting him Into the car, where he showed fight. He was a powerful man, and it was some time before he was overpow- ered. A card found on him shows him to be Edward Russell, a sailor, member of the Sailors' union of San Francisco. When the train reached Billings he was turned over to the police, whom he told Jie wanted to reach St. Paul, where his mother lived. |
