His wife secured a divorce from him some few weeks ago, and it is said he has been worrying considerably about this ever since, until it has unbalanced his mind. MANTI: Bheep-shearing at the corrals west of Mantl is going on each day. It is believed that about 50.000 head will be shorn within the next few days. Many of the sheep are poor, and the loss this season sea-son is a little heavier than usual. Some of the owners will lose as much as 30 per cent of their flocks, while others will-sustain losses of not more than 6 to 10 per cent. . PROVO: Arthur D. Sutton of Provo, proprietor of the Elkhorn pharmacy, suffered suf-fered with a painful accident Thursday night while filling a gasoline lamp. The gasoline ignited, and Mr. Sutton's left hand was severely burned. Dr. Robison was called and dressed the injured member, mem-ber, which Mr. Sutton will carry in a sling for some time. AMERICAN FORK: Jesse Padfleld of American Fork has enlisted In the United States navy. He will leave In a few days to take his assignment on a government training ship. RICHFIELD: Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Out-xen Out-xen of Richfield have gone to St. Louis, to be present at the dedication exercises of the Louisiana Purchase exposition. MANTI: Ernest V. Hardy, George Peacock Pea-cock and Alexander Tennant, Jr., of Mantl, Man-tl, have taken a contract to complete a mile of canal to be built In Idaho during the coming summer. It will bo eighty feet wide at the bottom and ICO feet at the top. by eleven feet on the grade, and the full length of the canal when completed will be thlrtv miles. The canal will start from the Snake river at Twin Falls. LEHI: The People's Co-op. held a special spe-cial meeting Wednesday and elected the following board of directors: T. R. Cutler, Cut-ler, William Clark. Hy Lewis, George Webb and T. F. Trane. with James Fyffe secretary and S. I. Goodwin treasurer. The company is capitalized for $100,000, of which about $58,000 has been issued, but owing to recent improvements that have been made and a demand for a lartcer stock of merchandise being carried, it wa decided to Issue $20.noo of the capital stock. Clinton, Clin-ton, Jr., sister of Miss Coffin, were out driving, when the neckyoke broke and the horses dashed off in a wild run. The la dies were thrown out one at a time within two blocks, and the colored coachman went out as the team turned a corner.
