Show MEANS A BIGJNION DEPOT Not least among themany. benefits that Salt Lake will without delay receive as the result of the acquisition of the southern portion of the Short Line by the San, Pedro and the early completion of tmt latter road through to the coast, will be the building of. a union depot which will furnish terminal facilities for these two roads at least, and probably others. This depot will be constructed on Third West between South Temple and First .South street. In the block just south of the present Short Line station. ; Already every foot of property in this vicinity has been tied up under heavy options and a wonderful increase in the price of realty is confidently anticipated within a short time. For many years the feeling has been general that Salt Lake had no railway station that in size and abearance was commensurate with the importance of the city as a commercial center. ' : The existing condition will soon be among the things of the past, and It is probablethat wtthln the next six months plans will be completed and ork begun upon a station and terminal facilities that .will not only afford ample opportunity op-portunity for handling with ease the greatly Increased traffic that will follow the construction of the new transcontinental hlway, but will be a credit to the new Salt Lake.
