Show CHINESE GARDENER VIOLATES QUARANTINE Ah Sing, a Chinese vegetable peaHer. was arrested this afternoon by Patrolman Patrol-man Carlson on a" charge of having violated the smallpox quarantine this morning. ' The peddler, while going from house to house In the southeastern part of the city, entered a bouse that was under un-der quarantine, and after dispoeing of some of his goods, went to another, where he had a cup of tea with the famify. Patrolman Carlson, upon learning of the movements of the Chinaman, Chi-naman, arrested him and took him to the police station. He was then told to go at once to his gardens on Twelfth South and Third East streets, and await the coming of the health officers offi-cers with their fumigating apparatus. The house was thoroughly . fumigated this afternoon, as was also the house where he had the cup of tea. In this place there was a family of eight children, chil-dren, sll of whom It is believed might have contracted the disease but for the prompt action of the health department depart-ment In cleansing the house. |
