Show STRANGER A UICIDE George Elliott Ends His Life By Taking a Dose .of Poison. George Elliott, 38 years old, died from the effects of a large dose of some narcotic nar-cotic yesterday afternoon at the Railroad Rail-road Exchange hotel near the Oregon Short Line depot. Elliott was seen asleeo at S o'clock I by an employee of. the house, , At o'clock Elliott's loud breathing attracted attention and Dr. C. M. Benedict was called. . The drug ' had been taken long enough to permeate ' the system before the 'doctor was called, all efforts ef-forts to revive the man were unavailing unavail-ing and he died at midnight. Little is known of Elliott at the hotel, ho-tel, he having registered v.there June 2nd. The man was not of a social disposition dis-position and did not mingle with the other boarders. From his effects it is believed that he was born In; England .and came .to Salt Lake from Australia by way of San Francisco. In his room were found many pill boxes and prescriptions. A loathsome j disease from which he was a sufferer Is believed to have been the cause of his despondency. Continued Ill-health Is believed to have preyed upon his mind until he concluded that death was preferable to life. |
