Show SALOON MAN GRAPPLED WITH A BURLY BURGLAR; ROBBER PULLED A GUN An attempted burglary was made this morning about 6 o'clock at the saloon of George Best, corner' Twelfth South and West Temple streets. The would-be burglar was caught In the act by the proprietor of the saloon, who grappled with the man and was getting the better of the scuffle when the intruder pulled a &un and escaped from the building. The man had his face blackened and looked like a negro, but some of the black was rubbed off in the fierce encounter encoun-ter between the two. Entrance to the saloon was obtained by a window, which was pried open with a crowbar. The burglar Is said to 1iave not secured any booty. The Sheriff now has his deputies making investigations. |
