Show BUYS OLD WORKINGS. N , The White Pino Gold Mining company, com-pany, of which O. Weiser is manager, has bought a property twelve miles from McGill's, in the Ely district, from which $2,000,000 was taken in the early days, but that has been abandoned aban-doned ever since the slump in the metals. met-als. When it was previously operated there was no railroad station nearer than ninety miles, and nothing carrying carry-ing less than $80 per ton could be shipped with profit. Also the" milling facilities then available would ' only save the free gold values in the lower grades of ores. But notwithstanding all these obstacles, a tunnel was extended ex-tended 240 feet on the vein, and the ore was rolled out in a wheelbarrow, the vein being eighteen inches to three and one-half feet wide, in very high values. Since the new company has taken hold this vein has led into a larger ore body. A second and parallel par-allel vein has been opened also, as well as the contact. A track has been laid iu the old tunnel. The five-stamp mill has been overhauled and equipped with modern tables, and othar up-to-date appliances, ap-pliances, and large quantities of $50 to $60 ore is in sight with which to keep it busy. It is only seven miles from the Nevada Northern railroad furthermore, further-more, and the management considers it has one of the most promising propositions propo-sitions in the Ely region. |
